Get ready to revisit the hilarious world of the Roses! The beloved sitcom Schitt's Creek has found a new home for Canadian viewers, making it easier than ever to binge-watch the show's heartwarming story.
CBC, Canada's national public broadcaster, has expanded its FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channel lineup with a dedicated Schitt's Creek channel. This means you can now find all six seasons of the Emmy-winning comedy series, along with the special finale, Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell, all in one place.
The channel is currently available on CBC Gem, CBC's streaming service. But that's not all! This fall, it will also launch on LG Channels and The Roku Channel in Canada, providing even more ways to enjoy the show. CBC already has FAST channels dedicated to other popular series like Heartland and Murdoch Mysteries, showcasing their commitment to providing diverse content to viewers.
According to Sally Catto, General Manager of Entertainment, Factual and Sports at CBC, the goal is to meet audiences where they are and connect them with their favorite shows. The new Schitt's Creek channel aims to make the iconic series even more accessible to both new viewers and longtime fans, offering endless streaming and laughs whenever they want.
Schitt's Creek holds a special place in television history, as it was the first Canadian series to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy. The show stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Levy, and Annie Murphy as the formerly wealthy Rose family, who are forced to rebuild their lives in the quirky town of Schitt's Creek, which they once bought as a joke. The show also features Sarah Levy, Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire, and Jennifer Robertson. It's widely celebrated for its warmth, humor, and inclusivity.
The show was created by Daniel Levy and his father, Eugene Levy, through their production company, Not A Real Company Productions.
But here's where it gets interesting... With the rise of streaming, FAST channels offer a unique viewing experience. They provide a curated, linear programming schedule, similar to traditional television, but with the flexibility of on-demand content. This can be a great way to discover new shows or revisit old favorites.
CBC Gem, where the channel is currently available, boasts over 6,500 hours of Canadian programming.
