Do plans offered by Allianz Global Assistance cover treatment for COVID-19 while staying in Canada?
Yes, insureds with a Visitors to Canada plan from Allianz Global Assistance will be eligible to claim for medical expenses if they test positive and fall ill with COVID-19 during their stay in Canada, as long as they have met the eligibility criteria for the policy and weren’t experiencing any symptoms on the effective date of their policy. Remember, that all claims are subject to the terms, conditions and conditions of the policy.
If you travel outside of Canada after the Canadian government issues a written warning to avoid all travel, or to avoid non-essential travel to a particular destination, benefits will not be payable for any losses incurred at your destination outside of Canada. Do I have to purchase emergency medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company?
To be eligible for a Super Visa you must prove that you have sufficient medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company.
