The Power of Real-Time Engagement

Part dating app and part social discovery, the MeetMe app aims to connect people all over the world. To help users feel even more connected to the app and its growing community, the developers added the Live video feature—allowing users to chat in real-time, live-stream themselves, watch others live stream, play games, and send virtual gifts.

User monetization and user satisfaction have surged as a result of live video.

According to an internal survey, users who use live video are more likely to recommend MeetMe to a friend and feel less lonely and bored.

The success of MeetMe’s Live feature has led The Meet Group to implement live video in its other applications, including Tagged, Skout, Lovoo, and Growlr.

They have found that video in-app purchases (IAP) account for more than half of their revenue and that video has become the first or second biggest revenue segment on every app.
