Why are Pokémon GO battles not working? ›

These issues are most often the result of a weak or inconsistent connection. Switching between cellular data and Wi-Fi to see which provides a more consistent and stable connection may address these issues.

Ensure that your device's operating system is up to date and that you have the latest version of Pokémon GO. If you are using a VPN, please disable it. Reboot your device, close apps that may be running in the background, and then try to log in again.
