History
In 1965, the camp was sold to the Boy Scouts, during which time the camp fell into disrepair. In 1973, the Boy Scouts nearly sold the camp to New York State to be part of the State Forest Preserve. Such a move would have likely meant the camp would have been torn down.

History
But instead, the Boy Scouts sold the camp and 16 of the original 1,500 acres to Howard Kirschenbaum and Barbara Glasner. The two divorced and the camp was split, but each worked to add modern innovations and restore the camp to its past glory.
