The Void Gate is a player-made structure. It will send you to the Void. after C1.6, it did not teleport players to the Void. Instead, it dropped Void Shards and allowed people to use Voodoo. this has since been changed back.
Appearance[]
it appears as a campfire with a purple fire, surrounded by rocks. Upon activation however, a purple circular portal appears above where the fire was previously located.
Usage[]
Before C1.6, In order to use the Void Gate, a player had to bring a tamed Banto or a tamed Bantae to the gate and ‘‘sacrifice’’ it. note that it cannot be any other type other than normal otherwise the portal will open but just disappear when you go through it leaving you in the overworld still. you also cannot go if you are in a tribe only the tribe leader can do that. when you "sacrifice" a tamed Bantae or Banto The Void Gate wouldthen activate, and a portal wouldappear. After the player enteredthe portal (this may lead to your game crashing), they would be sent to the Void along with their tribe if they were the tribe leader.
when you join the Void for the first time once, or after you reach level 25 for the first time since you rebirthed, a GIU will open a in which one of 3 Voodoo spells can be selected. if however your have rebirthed once it will be 4 and if you rebirth twice then it will be 5. look at the Voodoo spells page for more info. After being selected, the GUI will be removed and a full voodoo bar with an icon of the spell you chose will be available. once The player gains access to the Voodoo bar, they will be allowed to use the spell they chose when it has enough voodoo for the chosen spell whenever they like. note that each spell uses a different amount of voodoo. Voodoo can be recharged by wearing Void Armor, the Void Bag or being in the Void. Wearing both the Void Armor and the Void Bag while being in the Void increases the speed of recharge dramatically.
