Do you want to collect input from your audience, or do you want them to compete against each other in a battle of wits? Mentimeter has a variety of slides that can help you create exactly the experience you're looking for.

Mentimeter has lots of different slide types, but most interactive slides fall under two categories: Quiz slides and Question slides.

Question slides include a variety of different question types (Word Clouds, Open Ended slides, Multiple Choice questions, and more) and are designed to gather input from your audience. You can learn about their preferences, ask for feedback or ideas, and visualize their answers in creative and useful ways. To view our offerings of all our question slides, you can click the "New Slide" button on the top left corner of the editor.

These slide types do not calculate scores, so if you’re hoping to reveal a winner at the end of the presentation, make sure to use Quiz Competition slides instead.

Quiz slides are designed for competition. You can test your audience’s knowledge, have a countdown timer, calculate scores, and include Leaderboard slides to reveal the winner of the competition.

There are two types of Quiz slides: Select Answer and Type Answer.

Select Answer slides function like multiple choice questions, where participants just need to select one option from the possible answers you provide.

Type Answer slides are free text questions, where voters need to write the answers themselves.

Note: Quiz slides are designed to be used in a live presentation, so it's not possible to switch the quiz question types to Survey mode. This is because the audience needs to complete the questions together at the same time for the points to be calculated.
