What would you do if you won the lottery?
The lottery app Jackpocket recently surveyed Americans to see what they would do if they won the lottery. Some of the answers might come as a shock.
While the majority of respondents said they would tell their significant other and/or their parents (55.5%), there was still 44.5% who wouldn't tell them.
In a possibly related response, Jackpocket found that: "Women are nearly twice as likely to break up with their significant other than men" after winning the lottery.
Again, the survey found that the majority (52.3%) would party and celebrate their new-found fortune with family and friends. However, another 20.1% said they could celebrate alone.
The survey did find some more practical responses when asking Americans what would be the first thing they would do with the all that money:
- 29% - Pay off existing debt
- 15.9% - Put money aside to take care of family/friends
- 15.0% - Invest the money
