To help keep Cash App safe, you are required to verify your identity on Cash App. You’ll be prompted to verify your identity if you attempt to:

  • Send or receive more than $1,000 over a 30-day rolling period
  • Send or receive more than $1,500 total
  • Order a Cash Card
  • Buy bitcoin or stocks
  • Sponsor someone ages 13-17

As part of the identity verification process we’ll ask you to provide your:

  • Legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Last 4 digits of your SSN

In some cases, Cash App may also request your full SSN, residential address, unexpired government-issued photo ID, and/or income verification or source of funds.

You can verify your identity and check your verification status in Cash App at any time:

  1. Go to your profile icon at the top right of the Cash App home screen
  2. Choose Security & Privacy
  3. Continue to the Identity verification section. If we’ve verified your identity, it will say Verified
  4. If you're not verified, you can select Verify to continue with identity verification

Any info you submit is encrypted and sent to our servers securely.
