As with the past few entries in the series, WWE 2K24 includes MyRise. It's a career mode where you play as a created wrestler and play through an original story set in the WWE world. The 2K24 version of the mode is an excellent one that doesn't differ significantly from the last one mechanically or in terms of presentation.

WWE 2K24: Complete Guide To Casket Matches
Casket matches in WWE are pretty brutal - here's the rundown to the match type in 2K24.
Of course, the story being told is new, though. Yet, it's all new if you're a newcomer to this mode. If that's the case, then here is everything you should know before diving into 2K24's edition of MyRise.
Choosing Unleashed Or Undisputed Journey
The first thing you have to do in MyRise is select between the Unleashed or Undisputed journies. These are two separate storylines featuring different protagonists.
Unleashed has you playing as a woman's wrestler who has built up a reputation on the independent scene and is the star of an indie promotion called TBD. The story revolves around her ascending to the big stage of WWE.
In Undisputed, you play as a male protagonist who is already in WWE. Yet, his career isn't off to an electric start, as his first few years on the roster have been uninspiring. However, Roman Reigns has just relinquished his Undisputed Universal Championship to head off to Hollywood. So, your character participates in a tournament to crown a new champ.
Both storylines are interesting in their own ways, so there's no wrong choice here. Plus, MyRise has multiple save slots, so you can use one of them for the other MyRise journey.
Making Your Protagonist
Before you can get into the action, you must create a wrestler to control.
When you're prompted to select a save slot, a button at the bottom of the screen will be designated for importing a superstar.
So, if you've already created a wrestler you want to use, then you can import and play as them. Otherwise, you will need to create a new superstar on the spot.
The creation process is the same as it is when you create a superstar outside of the mode.
Don't worry too much about getting your wrestler perfect, as you can change their appearance, clothing, and name later.
The one thing you can't alter later is their fighting style. So, think carefully before selecting between Striker, Technician, Powerhouse, and High Flyer. You can change your move-set later, though, so you aren't stuck with ones that only fit your chosen fighting style.
Hubs
While playing MyRise, you will often get placed into little hub arenas when you're between matches and cutscenes. You can't walk around these places, but there is plenty to do here. These are the main things:
Edit Your Protagonist
You can fully customize your superstar from the hub. To do so, simply open the options menu using the button prompted at the top corner of the screen.
In this menu, you can select the following options to edit your wrestler:
- Appearance - This allows you to alter the appearance of your superstar, from their body to their ring gear. You can also change their name from here.
- Entrance - This one enables you to alter how your wrestler comes down to the ring. You can change their theme song, entrance video, entrance motion, and a bunch of other little things.
- Moveset - In moveset, you can alter all of the moves and actions your wrestler can do. This includes everything from how they enter the ring to their finisher.
- Victory - Victory refers to the victory scene after a match. So, you can change how your superstar celebrates a win.
You can edit all these things as often as you like.
It's best to edit these things right when you first arrive in a hub. This is because the game often resets the conversations you've had after editing your superstar.

Upgrading Your Attributes
While completing stories in MyRise, you will gain upgrade points, which are shown in the hub's top-left corner. To use them, hit the button prompted above them to open the options menu and select attribute upgrades.
From here, you can spend your attribute points on striking, grappling, aerial/running, submission, defense, and resilience, all of which contribute to your overall rating.
Checking Social Media And Talking With People
When you're put into a hub, you will typically notice at least one other person there. By clicking on them, you can have a chat. These conversations usually lead somewhere, especially if they have a symbol next to their name. Sometimes, though, they're just there to add a bit more exposition to the storyline you're currently involved in.
Social media works in a very similar way. Some posts can lead to side stories, while others are just there to give you information. Either way, you can access social media from the options menu.
Sometimes, you can click on social media posts to see replies.
Challenge Matches And Optional Stories
Along with completing the main story and playing the primary matches, the game has some side content, including challenge matches and optional stories.
Challenge matches are one-time bouts, typically with unique stipulations and rewards. Optional stories, however, usually include more matches and a few conversations. You can trigger either challenge matches or optional stories by talking to people or interacting with social media posts.
You will know which are optional stories, challenge matches, or main story conversations based on the symbol that appears next to a person's name or social media post. Here is a guide to the symbols:
Type Of Interaction | Symbol Description |
---|---|
Main Story | A WWE logo in a circle |
Optional Story | An exclamation mark in a circle |
Challenge Match | A fist in a circle |
The optional stories and challenge matches won't be available forever, so you need to do them as soon as possible if you want to experience everything. You can tell when you're about to enter a point of no return because there will be large arrows next to the name of the person you need to speak with.
You can tell what optional story and challenge matches are currently available by heading into the options menu and selecting 'Story Progress.' The ones without a padlock are currently doable.
Branching Storylines
During MyRise, you're sometimes presented with choices. Most of them are just simple ones where you respond to what others are saying. There are some, though, that significantly alter your experience, as this is a career mode with branching storylines.
2K has been very helpful by making it clear which choices in the game lead to different paths. They do this by placing a symbol of two crossed arrows next to your choices. So, you always know when you're making a significant decision.
