Paramount+ is the only way to stream awesome shows like The Twilight Zoneand The Good Fight. But the streaming platform has experienced its share of technical difficulties.1
Nothing is worse than having an episode of your favorite Star Trek: Below Decks seriesfreeze up on you. Before you get too frustrated and perform a Vulkan death grip on your subscription, try the troubleshooting tips in this article.
Troubleshooting Paramount+
Before we jump into specific error codes, we suggest that you follow these simple steps for any problems you’re experiencing while streaming Paramount+.
Paramount+ troubleshooting tips:
- Check your internet connection. If your network is experiencing disruptions due to outside issues, like network congestion during peak times, you may need to look into getting a faster connection.
- Try disconnecting your Wi-Fi router for 30 seconds, then reconnecting it.
- Sign out of your Paramount+ account and then sign back in.
- Delete the Paramount+ app that you’re using from your device, and then re-download it and log in.
- Restart the device you are using.
Checking on the status
There may be times when Paramount+ is simply down for the count. This is usually due to server issues with the actual streaming app. The best way to find out about these issues is to search Google for "Paramount+ server issues" and see what comes up. This leads you to some sites that report on server problems with websites. You can also check the official Twitter feeds: Here's the onefor Paramount+.
Paramount+ Error UVP 1011
This error code seems to come up often for Paramount+users who are using Amazon Fire Stick TV.
The first thing to do if you’re seeing UVP 1011 is to restart your device and the app. If that doesn’t work, try clearing the cached data in the app.
You can do this by following these steps:
- Go to the Fire TV menu and select the Settings tab.
- Click on Applications.
- In the Manage Installed Applications sections click on the CBS app.
- Finally, select the Clear Cache and then Clear Data options.
Error Code 60 (too many streams)
If you’re seeing the Error Code 60 on your Paramount+ app, then you’re likely trying to stream content from too many devices at once. Paramount+ limits every account to two simultaneous streams.
If you’re not aware of other devices that are streaming from your account, then it might be time to call up your family and friends (and maybe your exes) who might have access to your account to see if they’re using it.
If you can’t find the culprit, then double-check any devices you have that might be logged in to your Paramount+ account.
Error Code 1001 (ad blocker problem)
If you’re getting Error Code 1001 when using Paramount+, your problem can probably be traced to an ad blocker. Sadly, the only reliable way to get back to watching The Twilight Zone is to disable your ad blocker.
Error Code 110
This error code seems to be popping up for some Paramount+ users recently, and it’s likely related to privacy extensions on Chrome and other browsers. Try disabling extensions and add-ons, like Ghostery, and then trying again.
If this doesn’t work, then you might want to try watching your show on another browser.
Other Paramount+ issues and error codes
Many Roku users have experienced issues with playback on the Paramount+ app. We suggest that you check out these forum discussions if you’re having issues with a Roku device.
If you’re experiencing other error codes then they might be related to your operating system (some Microsoft users have seen error code 3012, for example). Fixing these issues is above our pay grade, so to speak. We suggest that you contact Paramount+ support at 1-888-274-5343 between 8 a.m. and 2 a.m. (ET).
Here’s a quick recap of some common error codes and what they mean.
Paramount+ error code overview
Error code | Known causes | Potential fix |
1011 | Issue with Amazon Fire Stick | Restart app and/or clear cache |
---|---|---|
60 | Too many devices streaming | Log off Paramount+ on other devices |
1001 | Ad blockers | Turn off your ad blocker |
110 | Privacy apps and extensions | Try turning off extensions like Ghostery or use another browser |
If you’re experiencing other issues or error codes with Paramount+ that we haven’t mentioned here, let us know in the comments. We might not be able to respond with a solution though, so your best bet is to call CBS support at 1-888-274-5343.
