What is a mango mojito mocktail?
The mojito originates from Cuba and is generally made using rum, mint leaves, lime juice, sugar and sparkling water. It's traditionally served in a high ball glass with ice and garnished with extra lime and mint.
For this recipe, I added some fresh mango. Then I adjusted the quantities of the lime and mint and omitted the rum.
Ingredients you'll need
Mango - mango is one of my all time favourite fruits so I was ecstatic when the recipe turned out so well. I used fresh mango, but frozen would also work. Just be sure to thaw the mango prior to using it.
Mint - the refreshing flavour from the mint adds a beautiful flavour to this mocktail recipe.
Lime - I adore limes. If anyone has some tips on how to grow a lime tree successfully, feel free to get in touch - I haven't had any luck yet! I recommend using fresh lime juice, but there are some great pre-squeezed juices on the market, so go ahead and use one of those if you can't get your hands on a fresh lime.
Soda water - to finish off this gorgeous mocktail, top with sparkling water, and you're done!
Mango mocktail variations
- You can replace the fresh mango with frozen if it's more cost effective or that's all you can get your hands on.
- Mint syrup can be used to replace the fresh mint.
- I love using kombucha instead of soda water. You could use a plain kombucha, or anything with mango or citrus works well!
- If you can't get fresh limes or they are too expensive, try a bottled lime juice instead.
How to make IT
Muddle lime pieces in your glass or pitcher. Clap mint together in your hands and add to the lime. Give it a gentle press.
Blend mango and water in a small blender - or a large one if you are making a bigger quantity.
Add the blended mango to the lime and mint mixture and stir gently.
Fill the glass with ice, top with sparkling water and stir gently.
Garnish with extra lime and mint.
I hope you enjoy this mango mocktail as much as I loved creating it!

Total Time: 5 minutes minutes
Servings: 1
Ingredients
- .5 cup Mango fresh or frozen. See Note 1
- 2 tablespoon Water See Note 2
- 1 Lime quartered
- 6 Mint leaves
- 1 cup Soda water or alternative. See Note 3
- Extra mint and lime for garnish
Instructions
Muddle lime pieces in your glass or pitcher to release the juices. If you don't have a muddler, use the handle end of a wooden spoon, or similar.
Clap mint together in your hands until the scent is released. Add to the lime. Give it a gentle press with the muddler.
Blend mango and water in a small blender to create a mango puree.
Add the mango puree to the lime and mint mixture and stir gently.
Fill the glass with ice. Top with sparkling water (or alternative) and stir gently.
Garnish with mint and a lime wheel.
Notes
Note 1: fresh or frozen mango can be used for the recipe. If using frozen, thaw before use.
Note 2:add just enough water to turn the mango into a puree. 2 tablespoons was perfect for me, but it will depend on how juicy your mango is! You may need to add a little more or less.
Note 3: the soda water can be replaced with your choice of sparkling drink. Kombucha tastes great in this, and adds to the health benefits.
