JUMP TO RECIPE
Making a non-alcoholic virgin mimosa recipe is a mocktail that couldn’t be easier! With just two delicious ingredients and less than two minutes, its a perfect way to start to your morning or girls brunch.
Like our lemon mocktail, grapefruit mocktail, non-alcoholic Prosecco or our non-alcoholic white sangria, it is a fresh and fruity start to the day that has a little flair and not too much sweetness. A fabulous drink to tickle your taste buds!
Mimosa Mocktail
A traditional mimosa co*cktail is made from just two ingredients: equal parts champagne or sparkling wine and citrus juice, almost always orange. They have a long tradition of being a staple of breakfasts and brunches and special occasions like weddings, baby showers, and mother’s day.
Mimosas, like champagne alone, are best served in a tall champagne flute as this helps bubbles and aromas develop to their fullest. But any glass will do. We talk more about glasses and how to make the perfect mocktail everytime.
Some people have made non-alcoholic mimosas with club soda or sparkling fruit juice but this is just not close enough to the real thing for me. The key to the BEST mimosa mocktail is using non-alcoholic brut, sparkling wine or non alcoholic champagne. Honestly, you won’t be able to tell the difference other than how great you still feel after a few.
Since there are only two ingredients in our alcohol-free mimosa mocktails, 0.0% non-alcoholic sparkling wine and fresh orange juice, it is important to use high quality versions of both.
Remember, you canalso add a splash of these simple syrups for a lovely little twist on this classic mimosa drink!
- Raspberry Simple Syrup
- Rose Simple Syrup
- Lavender Simple Syrup
- Orange Simple Syrup
- Blackberry Simple Syrup
- Strawberry Simple Syrup
Do mimosas contain alcohol?
Mimosas usually have alcohol rich sparkling wine or champagne in them. However, when you find a good quality non-alcoholic sparkling wine or champagne, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy the dry yet sweet taste of this classic co*cktail.
Like our non-alcoholic gin and tonic or our non-alcoholic vodka and dirty martini mocktail, virgin mojito mocktail, ginger beer mocktail, and virgin margarita, this bubbly drink only requires a few ingredients, and tastes great!
Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine
There are plenty of non-alcoholic sparkling wine out there but most still have a residual amount of alcohol. My favorite brand is Buonafide 0.0 wines as they are traditionally and Italian made. As stated by them directly…
Grapes are selected from sustainably farmed vineyards , harvested and produced (fermented) in traditional wine making methods. At the end of the wine fermentation process, the next step in the processing is removing the alcohol from the wine in a natural “Reverse Osmosis” filtration method by our Italian Certified Alcohol-Free Wineproducer partner, while maintaining the wines healthy benefits and superior quality.
Once the wines are confirmed 0.0% by lab analysis company PoloLab, the wines then go through yet another process after bottling. The bottled wines go through a pasteurization process that destroys any yeast or bacteria preventing any possible future fermentation within the bottle. This natural process allows wine to maintain its organoleptic properties and enhances the grapes healthy characteristics while equating to significantly Less Calories than regular wine as well as Less Sugar than competing non-alcoholic and alcohol removed wine brands that contain up to .5% alcohol. Wines are Clean, with No Chemical additives or flavorings and are Vegan friendly.
How to make it
I promise, this is the simplest mocktail you will ever make! While we do love making exciting themed drinks like you will find in our Halloween mocktails, Thanksgiving mocktails and Christmas mocktails,it’s sometimes nice to just keep it simple.
So here we go… Slowly pour the non-alcoholic sparkling wine or champagne into a tall, thin flute until it is 1/2 way full. Next, pour in orange juice (you could also use this homemade blood orange juice) until the glass is full and serve immediately.
Pro Tip: Do not stir, the bubbles will organically mix this delicious drink for you.
What to serve with it
I definitely think these mimosa mocktails are best served with our favorite breakfast foods like gluten-free cinnamon rolls, Ebelskiver recipe and the BEST gluten-free waffles.
You could also keep it simple with this beverage and our soft, fluffy gluten-free crescent rolls and fresh fruit. Or try our gluten-free sourdough crescent rolls for a lower glycemic option.
Whether you serve them on there own or with something tasty, you are going to love it!
Mimosa Options
While this easy mimosa mocktail recipe makes a tasty drink, there are some great options that you can try out to create your perfect drink. The traditional mimosa uses citrus fruits, but you can use a variety of different juices to create different flavors.
You can use white grape juice, cranberry juice, or peach juice. How about adding non-alcoholic tequila and a splash of grenadine and garnished with an orange slice to create a pomegranate tequila sunrise mimosa?
As I’ve said, I prefer to using sparkling wine or non-alcoholic champagne, but if you’re not a fan of those flavors, you can substitute lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, or even sparkling water.
